JANET IS THANKFUL FOR:
1. The crystal clear reflections of the high peaks in the
cold, still water of Lake Colden, in Adirondack Park, Upstate New
York.

This scene reminds me of Lake Colden. (I'm not sure
where this actually is).
2. The shooting geysers at Yellowstone Park, which leave misty trails
of rainbow colors in the setting sun.

3. The child-like, contented smile of my ex-boyfriend when I gently
scratched his back.
4. The constant, soothing sound of the surf as it rolls into Malibu
Surfrider Beach, which gives me an unaccountable feeling of calm,
for which I am so very grateful.
5. My rock-solid faith in the Creator, which gives me peace...
6. My love of nature, and the way just being in beautiful, natural
surroundings makes me feel grounded, whole, and part of something so
much bigger than myself.

7. My family. I was so blessed and so lucky to have a family so
honest and loyal and so knowing of what "family"
really means.
8. My adorable Cairn Terrier, Scruffy, who, when he was alive, gave
me - and I gave him - more unconditional love than I have
ever known.

Scruffy
9. "We Are Family", the anthem by Sister Sledge, and
"Dance to the Music", by Sly and the Family Stone, because
these songs tap into a sense of pure, unmitigated JOY!
10. The scene in "The Wizard of OZ" where Judy Garland sings
one of the most beautiful songs ever written, "Somewhere Over
the Rainbow", because every time I hear it, I am simply
transported.
11. I am also thankful for the silly song, "The doggie in the
Window", because it recaptures and encapsulates my long gone
"happy little girl" self.

12. And lastly, I am thankful for the song "Yesterday", because it
may just be the most beautiful song ever written.
